Why not? - Lee Troop

Everyone is talking the top range athletes. But whats the story with the guys under the radar?

A course like Boston could see guys up front you wouldnt expect. The likes of Kwambai proved it and there is always a chance for a surprise win or a guy in the lead pack you would never expect.

Sure, the kenians are the force, the guys to beat, but there are top class runners all the way.

Lets take bib number 14 - Lee Troop.

36 years old from Geelong, Australia. He is one of the top marathoners from Down Under. Still holds a good few middle distance records and is the top marathoner of his decade. Guided and mentored by the one and only Steve Moneghetti he has a PB of 2:09:49 (Otsu, 2003) in the books.

Sure, he would need to cut 3 minutes of that time if he want to chase Robert C. on the way to the finish line but expect him to be in the game for a good while. After he represented Australia in the Bejing Olympics (finished 60th in 2:27:17) he struggeled with injury problems but found his way back and focused on Boston and planing to compete in NYC this year as well.

Mzungo.org whishes Lee all the best and expect him up front with a finish in the Top 10.
