Athletes from over 70 countries will be eyeing the course records when the Prague International Marathon celebrates its 15th anniversary on Sunday.
The men's course record of 2:08:52 has stood for over a decade while the women's record of 2:26:33 has stood since 2001.
In the men's start list; four runners boast a better personal best than the course mark. Former Chicago winner Patrick Ivuti (2:07:46), David Kemboi (2:08:34) and Leonard Mucheru (2:09:37) can all pose a strong threat to the course record, while Spaniard Hicham Chatt, with a personal best of 2:07:59, will also be a strong challenger at the IAAF Silver Label race.
Reigning champion Kenneth Mungara (2:10:37), his team-mate Stephen Kipkoech (2:10:10) and Ukrainian Oleksandr Sitkovski (2:10:18) will form a potent combination to challenge the leading pack.
Other top European runners include Andrey Naumov (2:11:06) of Ukraine, Mykola Antonenko (2:11:57) along with Italian Mostafa Errebbah, with a personal best of 2:12:22.
