Instead of going head-to-head, Geb seems to find more pleasure in breaking world records. In the Dutch town of Hengelo, Geb attacked the one hour world record. While this is one of the major accomplishments in cycling, runners don't take too much pride in running an hour all out on the track. We're glad to see Geb give it a shot but hope at the same time that he's not turing into a collector of unusal records (9k anyone?) while getting older.
However, Geb ended up 400m short of his own WR.
Ask Mzungo friends Kenenisa Bekele raced an unusual 1,500 against new Olympic 1,500m champion Asbel Kiprop only to DNF.
