Ethiopia’s squad for mid and long distance runners for Berlin is out with the pair every Kenyan wants beaten, Kenenisa Bekele and Tirunesh Dibaba leading the queue.
Kenenisa and Dibaba won Ethiopia’s four gold medals at last year’s Beijing Olympics with doubles over men and women’s 5,000 and 10,000m.
Kenya’s woes at Kenenisa’s hands have also been extended to the World Championships where the 27-year-old has denied his bitter rivals the 10,000m gold medal at three successive editions — Paris 2003, Helsinki 2005 and Osaka 2007.
Tirunesh has topped Kenyans at World Championships gold in Paris (5,000m), Helsinki (5,000m and 10,000m) and Osaka (10,000m).
