by Doug Binder, The Oregonian Portland's Kara Goucher will run in the inaugural Rock 'N Roll Half Marathon in Chicago on Aug. 2 and use the race as a hard workout in preparation for the World Championships Marathon in Berlin.
Goucher has turned her training back to the roads after an impressive turn at the U.S. Track and Field Championships last month, where she won the national title in the 5,000 meters.
In Chicago, Goucher will receive star treatment. Why else would they install a "Kara Cam?"
Also, look for Adam Goucher to run his debut marathon perhaps sometime this fall. He has moved into full marathon training as well.
