Trent Briney calls in...

Hey from Flagstaff, Arizona. Just finished up a good run up and down the schultz pass trail. Started from the house at 7000 feet and ran up to about 7500 before coming back down the same single track trail.

Had the weekend off or nearly off as I wanted to finish recovering from a late week battle with strep throat. It just felt different than a normal sore throat so a couple people convinced me to see the doc on Friday. I took Saturday off and ran 15-20 minutes on Sunday and I feel full strength so I’m going back at it with 60 in the am and 30 pm this week as I start my buildup to a fall marathon. Where? To be determined but Toronto, NYC, and Cal International are certainly options.

Its been a slow summer of training so far as I had a small hamstring twinge for my first 2 weeks of working back in the fold of running everyday. And, in the last race I did I overstrided and overstretched a tendon on the back of my knee so I have just been being patient as I start the mileage again so that I can have a healthy body and really attack my fall plans.

Other than that working at the Cost Plus World Market selling furniture and wine. Also, enjoying the summer nights in Flagstaff where its just too nice not to sit on the curb and enjoy the view.
And, I’ve been kicking some butt at my poker league with top 4 finishes in 4 out of my last 6 games so thats been cool. I play 1-3 times a week in the evening to relax and compete and socialize a bit.

Enjoy the earth moving under your feet…
