2:15:45 to win a marathon in JAX

Andrey Bryzgalov set a course record on Sunday, winning the 26.2 with Donna: The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer in 2:15:45.

Bryzgalov, 32 of Russia, won $10,000 for his effort, which was 5 minutes faster than last year’s winning time of 2:20:55 turned in by Simon Sawe.

Bryzgalov’s agent, Larisa Mikhaylova, said it was the runner’s first marathon in the United States. He is currently living in Kentucky.

“His shape was very good today, very strong,” Mikhaylova said. “He’s tired after the marathon, but he’s so happy.”

Buzunesh Deba (pictured at left) won the women’s marathon in 2:33:08. The 22-year-old from Ethiopia currently lives in New York.
