Aufdemberge, Kingsley take USA Masters Half Marathon titles

Paul Aufdemberge (Redford, Mich.) successfully defended his men's title and Lori Kingsley (Wysox, Pa.) easily took the women's crown Sunday at the 2010 USA Masters Half-Marathon Championships in Melbourne, Fla. The championships were hosted for the second year by the State Farm Melbourne & Beaches Music Marathon.

Aufdemberge pulled away from Eric Ashton (Columbia, S.C.) and Sean Wade (Houston, Texas) after 10 miles to a 34-second win, running 1hour 8 minutes 57 seconds. Ashton took the runner-up spot in 1:09:31, as Wade took third in 1:09:51.

Kingsley cruised to the women's overall masters title in 1:20:32, finishing one minute, 22 seconds ahead of Marybeth Reader (Bloomfield, Mich.).


Kathryn Martin (Northport, N.Y.) won the age-graded competition, while Doug Winn (Portland, Ore.) and Aufdemberge rounded out the top-three age-graded performances.
