Registration for 2010 Chicago Marathon Opens February 1

Registration for the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will open at 12:01 a.m. (CDT) on Monday, February 1. The 33rd edition of the Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 10. The Chicago Marathon, one of the World Marathon Majors, is home to the fastest marathon ever run on U.S. soil, and is the site of four world record performances and countless personal bests.

Registration will be available online at chicagomarathon.com and will remain open until the event reaches its 45,000-participant capacity. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register early. The 2009 Chicago Marathon reached its capacity in late April.

The registration fee is $135 for U.S. participants and $160 for participants outside the U.S.

Your participation in the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will directly benefit youth running programs in Chicago. Two dollars from each entry, along with a dollar-for-dollar match by Bank of America, will be donated to benefit Chicago-based youth running initiatives.

In advance of race day, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Health & Fitness Expo will take place at McCormick Place Convention Center on Friday, October 8, and Saturday, October 9. The two-day Health & Fitness Expo features hundreds of industry-leading exhibitors offering the latest in running and fitness footwear, apparel, nutrition and technology. The Expo is free and open to the public.
