M: Planned off (recovery week)
T: 11miles with 8xYasso 800s/ 4miles
Goal of 800s is to run Goal MP with Lap jog(1:45-50) recovery
Splits: 2:27, 2:25, 2:25, 2:25, 2:25, 2:23, 2:25, 2:23
W: 10miles/ 5miles
T: 8miles (feeling a little sick)
F: 8miles Fartlek of 9x1(4:57pace) on Treadmill/ 4miles
S: 6miles on Treadmill (a little off but feeling better)
S: 4miles/ 12miles with WS 5mile Test Race (25:49/5:10)--see blow

Recap: Solid recovery week which has me feeling "run down' mid week. Still a little off right now so hopefully as I bounce miles back up next week the body will cooperate and be ready for another good stretch. I like the way my February month of training went, these past 20+ days accomplished some good training and good positive steps. I can say it until I'm blue in the face but Sunday test race was much better effort then race time. Flat/Fast 5miler and I think sub 25 would have been in the cards if not a run at the PR (24:34) and all this off Marathon based training. Need to knock out another solid stretch before a very important test half marathon!!

Winter Series 5miler: Here is the Strands breakdown of the race: http://www.strands.com/RunPyles/posts/18969039 Tough racing conditions and some XC style 1K loops(twice) that made things fun but a little on the slow side. I feel sub 25 effort was achieved! Test Half in 3-4 weeks which is the real indicator of Marathon Training Fitness...can't wait!
1st out of 141 runners and splits off my watch were 5:03, 5:14, 5:10, 5:09, 5:09..need this pace or faster for the half with good weather and fast course!!

Also the local Strands community really showed up and did great at the race. Breakdown of all in the link...Team Strands is only around because of all the support the site receives from runners around the country/world...THANK YOU to all of them!!
