Isle of Man Marathon attracts international entrants

BBC reports

Hundreds of athletes are taking part in this year's Isle of Man Marathon in the North of the Island.

As well as local and UK entries, competitors are travelling from as far afield as the USA, Austria, Italy, France and Germany.

The event begins on Sunday 8 August 2010 at the Ramsey football stadium on North Shore Road.
Organiser Christine Bathgate said: "It is a really lovely scenic, rural route which is relatively free of traffic.

"It goes north towards Bride, Andreas, and St Jude's then back into Ramsey".

Entries are open until Sunday morning for either the half marathon or the full 26 miles, for more information email iomvaclub@yahoo.co.uk.
