Get your kicks: Nike Streak XC 2 prominent at 5th Avenue Mile

Sold as a cross country shoe, Nike's Streak XC2 was one of the most popular choices of Nike sponsored road runners in 2010. We already spotted a few of them at the NYC Half in March and they kept popping up at athlete's feet on the summer streets.
Yesterday at New York's Fifth Avenue Mile, Webb and Manzano among others chose to race with this lightweight, meshy and no frills flat. As it happens from time to time, Nike has been landing a hit with a shoe they probably didn't expect to become so popular among their elites. Designed as budget friendly XC racer for high school and collegiate runners, the Streak XC seems to be much more than just that.

Mzungo says: we love the shoe's light weight, water clearing abilities, its tread on rainy roads or muddy conditions and its unbeatable price of $59.
