Course records were set in both the men's and women's races at Monday's Dublin City Marathon.
Kenyan's Moses Kibet cut 11 seconds off the previous men's mark as he clocked two hours eight minutes and 56 seconds.
Russia's Tatiana Arashova won the women's race in another record mark of 2 hours 26 minutes and 12 seconds.
Belfast athlete Joe McAlister was the second Irishman home in 2:21.05 while Raheny's Barbara Sanchez (2:39.39) was the first Irish woman to finish.
Kibet's time, on a sunny but chilly morning in the Irish capital, bettered Aleksey Sokolov's previous Dublin record of 2:09.07.
The Kenyan came in ahead of Ethiopia's Kedir Fikadu, while another Kenyan, Mourice Musyoki, took third.
Clonliffe's Sergiu Ciobanu defended his concurrently-run men's Irish title with a 2:19:33 which left him ahead of McAlister while Mexican-born Sanchez was the first Irish woman finisher in the Bank Holiday race.
Arashova's new women's record was over a minute faster than the 2003 mark record of 2:27.22 set by Ruth Kitol of Kenya.
A record entry of over 13,000 runners set off on the 26.2 mile course.
