Kenya's Grace Momanyi won the women's Commonwealth Games 10,000m title on Friday, keeping up the tradition of African nations taking gold.
Momanyi crossed the line in 32:34.11, well over a minute off the Commonwealth record of countrywoman Selina Kosgei who set the mark in Manchester in 2002.
But on a stifling Delhi evening it was good enough to win.
Her teammate Doris Changeywo came second, with India's Kavita Raut claiming an impressive third to huge cheers from the home crowd.
The Kenyans were always going to win this race and Momanyi and Changeywo made their break with 10 laps to go, picking up the pace to string out the field.
With eight laps left it was just the two of them in it, with a 50m gap opened up and with five laps left it had been stretched to 150m.
The two teammates went to the bell neck-and-neck but Momanyi looked stronger and she made her move down the final straight, moving up a gear to leave Changeywo in her wake.
