Aussie Cross squad includes Buster Mottram and Benita Willis

Distance icons Craig Mottram and Benita Willis will spearhead a team of 16 athletes selected to represent Australia at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbria, Spain, on 20 March.


Mottram’s selection marks the first time the national 5000m record holder will line up for Australia at a world championships meet since placing 31st at the World Cross Country championships in Edinburgh in 2008.



The seven-time World Cross Country Championships representative will be joined on the start line of the senior men’s race by Commonwealth Games 5000m and 10,000m representatives Collis Birmingham and Ben St Lawrence, fellow Australian Flame athlete David McNeill and Cross Country guns Liam Adams and Clinton Perrett.
