2011 New York City Half-Marathon - “Once the gun goes off, there are no mates...”

The Londoner has recently relocated to Portland, Oregon, to work alongside Rupp under American long-distance coach Alberto Salazar but he insists he will be running for himself when he makes his debut over the 13.1-mile distance.
“Once the gun goes off, there are no mates,” he said. “You try to help each other in training but we will shake hands beforehand and then run our own race.”
Farah, whose previous longest race was when he won the 10-mile Great South Run in 2009, is hoping to build on the good form he showed in Paris earlier this month when he retained his European indoor 3,000 metres title.
