Brian Sell was one of 13 elite runners paid to run the race. Sell finished 22nd in the 2008 Olympic Marathon.
"I've just heard it was a great race and Belling Health does a great job of putting it on," said Sell, who ran the event for the first time. "Some of my teammates ran it last year."
Twenty-one other runners made the Bellin Run history books, but not necessarily for their times. The Bellin Run "Legends" have run every one of the races.
"It's an honor, being considered a legend," said Micheal Dorsey of Green Bay. "There's so few of us that have run every one that is is considered and honor for us." Due to the record number of runners this year, organizers moved to a different starting format with seven different "waves" or start groups.
