Mo Farah, whose brilliant form in the winter culminated in the European indoor 3,000 metres crown, served notice that he will be a force to be reckoned with this summer by breaking the 25-year-old British 10km road record.
Based in London and running for Newham and Essex Beagles athletics club, Farah won his first major title at the European Junior Championships in 2001. On the track, he came sixth in the 2007 World Athletics Championships. He also competes in cross-country running, where in December 2006 he became European champion in Italy.
