43,000 Apply for 2010 Tokyo Marathon in First Two Days

Entries for the Feb. 28, 2010 Tokyo Marathon opened on Aug. 1. Race organizers have reported that by the end of the day on Aug. 3 a total of 43,053 people had already applied for the 32,000 available places in the full marathon. 3,909 entrants had also applied for the 10 km race which has a field limit of 3,000. The application period for the 2010 Tokyo Marathon continues until the end of the month. The names of those selected to run will be announced in mid-October.
