“This is my second visit to New York, following the 10k I did in 2007. I believe the course for the 10k is the same as the first half of the half marathon, so quite tough up and down in Central Park. So I’m looking forward to the second half on Sunday. In terms of time, I would really like to break 70:00…. And obviously I’d like to win the race. I don’t know what sort of form Deena Kastor is in. One of the other runners is Madai Perez, who’s just coming back from having a baby, so I have no idea what form she’s in. So I’m just going to try and concentrate on my own performance and do my best and hopefully win in a good time."
