Trooper out with blood clot

Sydney Morning Herald reports
A blood clot has set back Lee Troop's bid to qualify for a fourth Olympics, ruling him out of next Sunday's Sydney Marathon.

Troop is on blood-thinning medication, receiving daily injections and unable to train for three months after being hospitalised when doctors discovered a blood clot on his lung.

He had been planning to chase a qualifying time for the 2012 London Olympics with pacing assistance from former Games teammate Steve Moneghetti in Sydney, where they contested the 2000 Olympic marathon.
