And there it is, clearly stated. The 2012 Boston Marathon will have:
* Tougher qualifying standards (expect times to tighten by 0-10 minutes)
* A slightly increased field size (the B.A.A. has been asking cities and towns if they can accommodate an additional 3,000 runners)
* A shorter qualifying window (expect this to shorten by a couple months so that qualifying times are good for just one Boston Marathon)
* A new registration start date (this could result in a later date, moving registration to a weekend, and/or a different time of the day)
