During one period at college, in late summer of 67, Gerry Lindgren decided to outdo himself. He said that a physiologist at school warned him against running more tan 90 miles a week or risk breaking down. "I wanted to prove him wrong," said Lindgren. He proceeded to run 50 miles a day, 350 miles a week, for six weeks. "I ran at least five workouts a day," said Lindgren. "I felt great." He had a vegeterian diet and ate several meals a day.
