In the women’s race, NYRR Runner of the Year Buzunesh Deba of West Side Runners (WSX) broke the event record in 33:09, which earned her $1000 in prize money. Frances Koons from Bryn Mawr, PA, was second in 33:31, and local Alemtsehay Misganaw was third in 33:44. The men’s member-division winners were Deresse Deniboba of Westchester Track Club in 29:09 and teammates Kumsa Adugna Megersa (WSX) in 29:19 and Tesfaye Girma in 29:24. All of the local teams were out racing and cheering on their friends in what was another beautiful run in the park.
