Former Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon champion Simon Wangi and his compatriot Meshack Kirwa will lead other Kenyans in this year's edition set to be held on Sunday.
Defending champion Khalid El Boumlili of Morocco will also make a return to the June 6th race.
His biggest competition may come from Kenya's Phillip Limo, who was second in the Loss Angeles Marathon back in March and South Africa's Hendrick Ramaala .
Ramaala won the New York City Marathon in 2004 and set a personal best time of 2 hours 06 minutes and 55 seconds in the 2006 London Marathon.
Also in the race are Kenei Kiprotich of Kenya and Tariku Jafur of Ethiopia.
The winner will pocket 1.9 million shillings.
Meanwhile Fanuel Kenosi of Botswana has vowed to break the 200 metres record that he set at the 2008 Africa Championships in Ethiopia.
Kenosi has begun preparations for this year's event that will be held in Nairobi between July 28 and August 1.
Kenosi, is hoping that the Botswana Athletics Association will also find international competitions for him ahead of the continental event.
The Kenyan-born sprinter goes into next month's local championships buoyed by his recent success in Mauritius.
Over 1200 athletes from 23 countries are expected to take part in the continental event.
