"I was running relaxed for the first part and picked it up at the halfway mark," Meyerhoff said. "Just gradually I extended my lead more and more. I felt good, and I was glad I was kind of conservative the first half. It made the last half not hurt as bad.
"When I made that turn (into the finish), it was everything I thought it was going to be and more. It was so exciting all those people."
