Kitwara wins 5,000 at Police meet in 13:41

Samuel Kitwara mantained his good form winning his second race in as many attempts this season in the 5,000m as the Kenya Police Athletics Championships wound up at Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday.

Kitwara, a revelation last season in the cross country championship, made his intentions clear at the start of the year holding off Ethiopian legend Haile Gebrselassie in Hague, The Netherlands, to win the City-Pier-City Half Marathon in April.
Running for the General Service Unit, Kitwara, who is yet to represent the country at any international championship, led from gun to tape to win in 13:41.2.

But with his current form, Kitwara is expected to ruffle feathers in the 12 lap race during the national trials for the World Athletics championships.
